Yalu Jailbreak

Christmas came a little early for some iOS users, particularly those that like to jailbreak their iOS devices. Luca Todesco has, at long last, released a public jailbreak, called Yalu Jailbreak, in a move that has surprised a lot of people because he is not known for sharing his exploits with the public. He does warn that this may be the last jailbreak we will see for some time because iOS 10 is proving to be very hard to crack. Before you skip ahead to the steps on how to download Yalu Jailbreak, you do need to be aware of the following first.

Before you Jailbreak :

  • This is a beta jailbreak and is likely to be full of bugs and glitches as well as being unstable . Todesco has said it may be better to leave it to the developers for now and wait for Yalu to become more stable before downloading it
  • This is not a straightforward one-click jailbreak. Instead you need to use Cydia Impactor to side load Yalu onto your iOS device and that means you will also need a valid Apple ID
  • Yalu is semi-untethered, something that seems to be the norm now

How to Downloads and Install Yalu Jailbreak:

  1. Download Yalu Jailbreak .ipa file [ ext link]
  2. Download Cydia Impactor [ext link]
  3. Use iTunes to backup your iOS device data
  4. Make sure your device is connected to your Mac or PC and open Cydia Impactor
  5. Locate the .ipa you downloaded and drag the file to the Cydia Impactor window; drop it in
  6. When you are asked to, type in your Apple ID and password
  7. Now you must be patient as Cydia Impactor will now sign the certificate and side load Yalu onto your iOS device
  8. Now go into Settings > General > Device Management
  9. Find the app you side-loaded and tap Trust
  10. You will now see an icon on your home screen called mach_portal , tap on it
  11. When your device resprings, the process is complete and you should see Cydia installed
  12. The jailbreak has been successful and you can go ahead and use it

Things to Note

  1. If your Apple account is free, the Yalu certificate will expire every 7 days. You must repeat from Step 5 onwards each time
  2. Yalu is semi-untethered so, whoever your device reboots, you need to follow Step 10 again
