Just recently we’ve seen loads of reports and leaked images of what is apparently the new budget iPhone. Rumors abound that it will be released in the fall, alongside either the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 – nobody seems quite sure yet – and we’ve seen loads of images of what are said to be the plastic casing of the iPhone.
Today we have a video, posted by YouTube’s DetroitBorg of what is supposedly one of these plastic shells that is being compared to a number of other Phone models. Here is that video:
As you can see, the shell is made of plastic and there are a number of differences evident when compared to other models. The video narrator describes the shell as being a cross between the iPod Touch and the iPhone 3GS. It has pinholes where the SIM card tray would be and volume rocker buttons which indicate that the case was taken from production before the SIM tray and button holes could be punched out.
iPhone 5 Vs iPhone Mini :
It’s also a little less curved than the iPhone 3GS with more flat surfaces. The buttons are located on the flat and the back is flat, probably to allow Apple to use flat parts rather than matching them to curves.
Most of what we see in the video strongly matches the rumors we have heard. We’ve heard about the plastic casing, the multiple colors, a phone that looks something like the iPhone 5 but more rounded and with a much lower price tag – around the $300 mark.
We have also heard that it will have a 4” IGZO display with a resolution of 1136 x 640, an A7 quad-core chip running at 1.2GHz and 2GB of RAM. It may even have a 12 megapixel camera and will run on iOS 7.
As to release date, who knows ?
