We are fast approaching the end of what has been quite a busy and exciting year for Apple fans everywhere. We’ve had two brand new iPhones, a new 27” 5K iMac And the usual upgrades to the iPad and MacBook ranges. With all of that out of the way now, attention is turning to what we might expect to see next year in terms of the iPhone.

According to Timothy Arcuri, an analyst at Cowen and Company, there is a good chance that Apple may take a step back and release a 4” iPhone 6 in 2015. He says that this will be in addition to an iPhone 6S and an iPhone 6 Plus S with the iPhone 6S Mini following the same specs as the iPhone 5S. He does say it will have a new design though, a curvy design akin to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
He also says that, to keep the costs to a minimum, Apple may use low-cost components that are purpose-built from Qualcomm and it is likely that this handset will be a replacement for the iPhone 5C, rumored to be disappearing from the lineup next year.
Earlier on in the week, Arcuri also reported that Apple is going to launch a large-screen iPad, possibly sporting a 12.2” or 12.9” screen, possibly in the spring of 2015. This is the product that is expected to bring the iPad range back to life and Apple is expecting to ship between 15 and 20 million units in the first 12 months after launch.
Of course, we must take this with a pinch of salt at this stage, as we know nothing of what Apple has planned for 2015. What do you think of this idea though ?
