In another surprise move, Apple seeded iOS 7 beta 6 to developers’ yesterday morning, a bit earlier than originally thought. However, the timing of the release and the fact that it is only 13.5 MB in size leads us to believe it could have been an emergency release to fix an urgent bug. The only issue it addresses is one that concerns iTunes and iCloud – after the last beta some people discovered they were getting some unexpected downloads with their purchases.

This leads to another question – will there be a beta 7 ? We can’t be sure of that but what we can be reasonably certain of is that the iOS 7 GM final version will be arriving in September. September 5th is the date that is rumored for Apple employees and partners with developers getting their hands on it on September 10th. This is the date that Apple is expected to hold their media event to launch their new product lineup for the coming season.
The iOS 7 GM final version is expected to be the one the public gets, barring any serious issues or bugs. Obviously, Apple has to be satisfied with the iOS 7 GM final version before either developers or the public get to see it, which is why it’s being released in 2 stages. If all goes according to plan then the GM version will definitely be seeded to developers on 10th September and the final public release date will be revealed.

September 10th is the day that Apple is expected to give us our first sight of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. It’s thought that both of these will be released somewhere around the 20th to 23rd of September so iOS 7, in all its final glory should be released a few days prior to this.
