iOS 10.0.3 Jailbreak

iOS 10.0.3 update has been released and, as with the last couple of updates to iOS 10, it is a minor bug fix update and contains no new features at all. However, this is the third such update since iOS 10 was released and we are still no nearer to a jailbreak than we were in September. Now that the new update is here, the question is being asked, can we jailbreak iOS 10.0.3 ?

The answer remains the same as it was with previous updates – at this stage, no we cannot. There are a number of things that are prompting this question – first, we have become a little too used to seeing a jailbreak fairly quickly after a major firmware release. It used to be that we would have to wait a few months before iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak [ext link] could be released, typically around late December or January. However, in the last few years, these jailbreaks have been getting earlier and earlier and that leads is to think that the same will happen with every big release from Apple.

Secondly Luca Todesco popped up with news that he had achieved  both iOS 10 and iOS 10.0.2 jailbreak [ext link] within days of both being released. He uploaded the proof to his Twitter account for all to see but stated, once again, that neither jailbreak would be released publicly. The speed at which he did it has led to some questioning why Taig or Pangu can’t do the same and the answer is simple – he found the vulnerabilities to jailbreak one or two devices. Taig and Pangu have to come up with vulnerabilities that can be exploited and turned into a usable jailbreak on millions of devices and that takes a lot more work.

iOS 10.0.3 Jailbreak Release Date :

We know that both teams are busy working on the next jailbreak utility and we can only keep our fingers crossed that we will see an iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak in the very near future. However, we can’t pin our hopes on it and it may be that we will have to be patient for a bit longer. If you are still using the PPHelper jailbreak on iOS 9.3 then you should hang on to it for now. If you have updated, whether by design or accident, the wait goes on.
