First of all, for those who are not developers and don’t want to wait, you can install the iOS 8 GM version by following our guidelines here.

Do You Know :

As an aside, it may interest you to know that iOS 7 has been responsible for a substantial decrease in the number of iPhone thefts. New security features implemented with the firmware are proving too much for would-be thieves.

Shortly after the iPhone 5S and 5C released in 2013, the number of thefts jumped considerably but clearly features such Activation lock took their toll as the numbers declined fairly rapidly not long afterwards.

According to statistics, the number one target for iPhone theft is young women. This is because a mobile phone is less likely to be missed straight away and is easier to steal from a handbag than it is from a pocket.

The Top Ten Mobile Phones most likely to be stolen :

  1. Apple iPhone 5
  2. Apple iPhone 5c
  3. Apple iPhone 5s
  4. Apple iPhone 4s
  5. Blackberry 9790
  6. Samsung Galaxy S4
  7. Samsung Galaxy S3
  8. Blackberry 8520
  9. Blackberry Z10
  10. HTC One X

All iPhone users should enable Find My iPhone and make sure Activation Lock is enabled as well. It is also recommended that two-step verification is used to make it even more difficult for would-be thieves. This advice applies to the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and to iOS 8 as well.
