Apple Preparing iOS 7.0.4 Download

With iOS 7.0.3 well and truly under our belts now, we are looking at the release of 7.0.4.  Reports over the last few weeks have told us that, going by web traffic, Apple is hard at work developing and testing the new version, probably ready for release shortly.

MacRumors, a popular tech site, reported that testing for iOS 7.0.4 started before 7.0.3 was actually released, with signs being spotted back in October, and there have also been reports of internal devices running iOS 7.1.  Developers have not been given the new release to play with yet so it will be a little while before we get to see it.  As of yet, there are no clues as to whether the update is a minor or major one and what it is being released to fix.

Many users will be praying that Facetime and iMessage finally get the repair they so badly need, while others will be looking for further improvements to the Touch ID sensor and a number of other issues that have risen up.  IOS 7.1 won’t be released for a while yet; 7.0.4 will be first, despite some odd comments that it will be the other way around.

One other interesting report, again from MacRumors, is that some devices have been registered as running on iOS 8.  This version is not due to be released until 2014 as it is still very early on in the development stage.  The likelihood is that this will be announced at next year’s WWDC, possibly June, and released in the fall again, with the next generation of iPhone, hopefully the iPhone 6.
